Bride
GroomOn this quiet sunny day in Arnaooun village, what was meant to appear as just another adventure with my girlfriend, turned into the most special day of my life. After months of planning and organizing, I was able to surprise the un-surprisable! After arriving to this gorgeous village on this beautiful Monday morning, we were right away greeted by a "friend" who turned out to be the photographer later. After making our way in, I excused myself for a brief "restroom break". As Marie and the "friend" waited, I was meeting with management to set up the proposal sign on a mountain side along the zip-line path and making sure everything is in order for the big surprise. After making my way back to Marie, I suggested the zip-lining event as it offers wonderful views of the vast mountains and forest scenery. As already planned, I put on the harness first and zip my way down over a massive forest to the adjacent mountain. Next, came Marie's turn to zip-line down the same terrifying path. Shortly after being released, as Marie was zipping through the wind, her harness "malfunctioned" and suddenly came to a complete stop, over a 200 foot drop with rocks and trees and death awaiting underneath!! As the realization of what had just happened kicked in, the adrenaline wore off and fear took over. Marie is crying for help as she's holding on to her harness for dear life. To ease the pain a bit, I comfort her by telling her that it's going to be alright and that they are hooking me up to go get her. But as I get closer, Marie reminds me that maybe someone with a little bit more experience should be doing the saving instead of me HAHA smart girl. Amazingly, as soon as I got close enough to her and touched her arm, Marie was in a complete relaxed state. It was at this moment that I realized the impact that my presence has on her. After lightening up the mood with a little joke, Marie smiled and glanced over my shoulder to find a giant sign that read "MARIE, will you marry me?". At that point I presented her with the ring and lo and behold, the crying started again. lol
